Understanding Express Entry Timelines
Express Entry profiles are valid for one year from the date of submission. However, receiving an ITA during that time is not guaranteed. If no ITA is received within the 12-month period, candidates may submit a new profile, assuming they still meet the eligibility criteria. Each new profile receives a new timestamp, which affects eligibility under IRCC’s tie-breaking rules.
After receiving an ITA, applicants have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence (PR) application. IRCC aims to process most Express Entry PR applications within six months, starting from the date the completed application is received.
