2025 Trends in Express Entry Draws
Throughout the year, IRCC has maintained a strong focus on PNP candidates, reflecting Canada’s goal of encouraging immigration to meet regional labor market needs. In addition to PNP-focused draws, ITAs have also been issued to:
- Candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Those with strong French-language proficiency
- Applicants qualifying under Express Entry’s category-based selection, such as healthcare, STEM, trades, and transport sectors
This approach supports Canada’s economic strategy to fill urgent skill gaps while promoting regional immigration.

What to Do After Receiving an ITA
Candidates who receive an ITA must submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) within the deadline provided. Once the application is submitted, the candidate officially becomes an applicant.
It’s vital to ensure that all information and documentation included in the application are accurate and truthful. Any form of misrepresentation whether intentional or unintentional can have serious consequences, including:
- A ban of five years from re-entering the Express Entry pool
- Inadmissibility to Canada
- Delays or denials in processing your PR application
Misrepresentation includes providing false documents, hiding important facts, or giving misleading information that could influence the outcome of an application.
The IRCC emphasizes the importance of honesty and transparency to maintain the integrity of Canada’s immigration system. The responsibility lies solely with the applicant to ensure that all submitted information is correct and all supporting documents are genuine.
Stay Informed on Express Entry Updates
As Canada continues to hold regular draws throughout 2025, it’s important for potential immigrants to stay up to date on eligibility criteria, score requirements, and category-based selections. Submitting a well-prepared Express Entry profile and maintaining accuracy at every step of the process are key to successfully immigrating to Canada.
