The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted two new draws between June 20 and June 25, inviting candidates from key sectors to apply for provincial nomination.
These draws targeted individuals working in Alberta’s identified priority sectors: construction and agriculture.

The two draws were conducted under separate streams, each with a different selection score:

AAIP 2025 Nomination Update
As of July 2, Alberta has issued 2,688 provincial nominations out of its total 4,875 allocation for the year. That leaves 2,187 nominations still available for eligible candidates in 2025.

What is the Alberta Opportunity Stream?
The Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) provides a pathway to permanent residence for temporary foreign workers already employed full-time in Alberta. To qualify, applicants must:
- Have a valid job offer from an Alberta employer in an eligible occupation
- Hold either a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or an accepted LMIA-exempt work permit
- Meet eligibility criteria related to residency, work permit type, occupation, language proficiency, education, and work experience
What is the Alberta Express Entry Stream?
The Alberta Express Entry Stream is aligned with Canada’s federal Express Entry system. Through this stream, Alberta can nominate eligible candidates who meet provincial labour market needs in specific sectors such as:
- Construction
- Agriculture
- Aviation
This stream includes specialized pathways such as:
- Accelerated Tech Pathway
- Dedicated Health Care Pathway
- Law Enforcement Pathway
Candidates with experience in these priority sectors may receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Alberta and be invited to apply for nomination.
