Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued more Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system. In this draw, the department issued 1,250 ITAs specifically for candidates in the trade occupations category.
To qualify for this draw, candidates needed to meet the following criteria:
- Have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 505.
- Have created an Express Entry profile before 10:36 p.m. UTC on November 5, 2025.

This is the first Express Entry draw for trade occupations in 2025. The last trade-focused draw was held on October 23, 2024, with a lower CRS cut-off of 433. The higher score this year is likely due to the long gap between draws, which allowed more candidates to enter the pool, making selection more competitive. Draws with a CRS score above 500 remain relatively rare across all Express Entry categories.
This draw also marks the sixth Express Entry selection of the month, following:
- A healthcare occupations draw on September 17 (the first in over four months)
- A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on September 15
- A French-language draw of 4,500 ITAs on September 4
So far in 2025, IRCC has issued 61,047 ITAs through Express Entry. Most draws this year have focused on the PNP, with the remaining ITAs allocated to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates, French-language speakers, and other priority occupation categories.

Looking ahead, IRCC plans to issue 3,300 ITAs for trade occupation candidates in the second half of 2025, according to an Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) release. If this plan continues, an additional 2,050 ITAs are expected to be issued before the end of the year.
