This education-specific draw is notable for two reasons. First, it is only the second time in Express Entry history that an education-focused draw has taken place. Second, compared to the previous one held on May 1, the CRS cut-off score dropped from 479 to 462, and the number of invitations increased from 1,000 to 2,500.
The draw marks the fifth round of invitations this month. Earlier draws in September included:
- A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on September 15
- A French-language category draw with 4,500 ITAs on September 4
- A Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on September 3
So far in 2025, IRCC has issued 59,797 ITAs across all Express Entry categories. The majority of invitations this year have been allocated to candidates through PNP draws. Other ITAs have gone to candidates with strong French-language proficiency, those with Canadian work experience, and applicants who qualify under Express Entry’s priority occupation and category-based selection streams.
