Manitoba has conducted a new round of invitations through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), targeting skilled workers from outside Canada. The latest draw, held on May 29, issued 30 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream.
Key Requirements and Selection Criteria
To qualify for this draw, candidates needed:
- A minimum score of 606 on the MPNP’s unique points-based system
- A valid invitation through a strategic recruitment initiative
Of the 30 invitations issued, five were sent to candidates with active Express Entry profiles and valid job seeker validation codes.
The MPNP clarified that some high-scoring candidates may not have received an invitation due to missing or invalid information, such as:
- Language test details not matching approved formats or expired results
- Invalid or missing invitation numbers from strategic recruitment initiatives

2025 Provincial Nomination Outlook
So far in 2025, Manitoba has issued 1,840 nominations out of its total annual allocation of 4,750. This reduced number is part of a broader cut across all Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), following Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) decision to reduce overall landing targets for PNPs this year.
With just over 2,900 spots remaining, the MPNP will continue to issue nominations cautiously throughout the rest of the year. However, some provinces have successfully negotiated higher allocations from the federal government, suggesting potential room for adjustment.
