Newfoundland and Labrador Opens Doors to 125 Skilled Workers in New Immigration Round

On October 14, 2025 Newfoundland and Labrador opened its doors to more than a hundred skilled workers by issuing 125 ITAs under its provincial nomination program and the Atlantic Immigration Program.

This was the eleventh draw conducted for Newfoundland and Labrador by its Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM). The office has issued 2,946 ITAs to candidates so far this year as on October 14, 2025.

Who Qualifies for an ITA?

According to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, individuals seeking to immigrate to the province through NLPNP and AIP need to have a valid job or job offer letter from an employer in the province.

Expressions for Interest (EOIs)  that best align with province labour market needs and economic development goals have been prioritized by OIM for invitations this year.

Candidates selected under the NLPNP receive an email notification of their ITA and can submit a full application for provincial nomination through their Immigration Accelerator portal account.

In contrast through the AIP, designated employers receive a notification and an official ITA confirmation letter through the same portal allowing them to apply for job endorsement directly.

All immigration candidates who do not reside in Canada and apply solely through NLPNP require an invite code by their employer before putting in their Expression of Interest or EOI.

Immigration Overview in Newfoundland and Labrador

On October 14, 2025., the total provincial nomination allocation for Newfoundland and Labrador stands at 2,525 spaces that is shared between NLPNP and AIP with the majority of allocation going to NLPNP.

Early this year the OIM was granted additional 1,000 nomination spots to address growing labour shortages and population needs. Most of this increase was dedicated to NLPNP.

The province’s allotment for endorsements under the AIP remains set at 475.

Newfoundland and Labrador adopted the EOI system in February of this year and has joined other provinces in implementing a two-step “candidate applicant” model streamlining how workers and employers connect to meet ongoing economic and demographic goals.
